The Reading List (Sara Nisha Adams)

overall rating: 8/10

My English bookshelf

(both physical and digital – but just the English novels)

-> So if you’re wondering: No, I haven’t just read the books listed – I read around a hundred more. But they are just published in my mother tongue and, as you already know, I don’t want you to know where I’m from. So I left them out. Though there are wonderful, wonderful books among them.

Due to the fact that I’m just listing the English books and I just started reading in English last year, you can say that the listed books are mostly just the ones I’ve read last and this year so far.

Romance (without fantasy)

I’m a hopeless romance – reader:)

* I wouldn’t call It Ends With Us a romance story – the focus is on sth entirely different. But because of the fact that It Starts With Us mostly focuses on love, it is a bit included in It Ends With Us and I didn’t wanna seperate both books, I decided to list them under “romance”.

A huge dream of mine is to study medicine. That’s why, last year, I started to read medical novels as well:)

For a long time, I merely read fantasy – approx. from the age of 10 to 14. Today, I can say that I like non-fantasy in general more, but think it’s great to immerse into another world from time to time:)

I haven’t read many classical books on my own so far – you can see most of the books (tbh all except Pride and Prejudice) listed thanks to the fact that I had to read them at school. But I’m planning on extending the list:)

number of books: 4

  • Chess Story (Stefan Zweig)
  • Pride and Prejudice (Jane Austen)
  • Romeo and Juliet (William Shakespeare)
  • The Wave (Morton Rhue)

I’m honestly really interested in reading historical novels, but still haven’t read a lot. I think it’s cause of the fact that they are often kinda heavy to read – and one of the reasons for reading (at least in my case) is to fade out the real, serious and often sad world, isn’t it?

favourite author: Paullina Simons

favourite book: The Bronze Horseman (Paullina Simons – The Bronze Horseman 1)

number of books: 5

  • The Bronze Horseman: The Bronze Horseman, Tatiana and Alexander, The Summer Garden (Paullina Simons)
  • The Diary of a Young Girl (Anne Frank)
  • The Secrets We Kept (Lara Prescott)

Here you can find books I can’t really call romance nor historical nor medical or whatever. They mostly focus on the lessons of life.
